2024 Donations: Knitted Knockers, NYU Faces Program, UR Golisano Children’s Hospital

For the months of January-February all donations will be made to Pediatric Inpatient Psychiatry at UR Golisano Children’s Hospital.

“The Pediatric Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at GCH has 25 beds dedicated for children & adolescents in need of acute psychiatric care. Patients come to us from across the region, often in the midst of a mental health crisis. Typical admissions are 7-10 days, although may be shorter or longer depending of the needs of the patient and family. While on the unit, patients and families receive care from a multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatrists, nurses and technicians, social workers, mental health therapists, psychologists, and activities therapists. They participate in groups programming throughout the day, where our staff help them develop and practice healthy coping skills. Admissions take place during a very stressful time for our patients and their caregivers. While we strive to provide a healing environment, resources are lacking. Your generosity can bring some comfort to our patients throughout their stay.”
